Countless Saturdays where the DJ shines colored lights while the music pumps and thumps from the speakers, where a white cake stands on the carefully selected linen, where people eat and dance and drink. This is the ideal wedding, one with the perfect cake, the perfect flowers, the perfect music, the perfect day. But sometimes, a wedding day can be made so much more perfect by its imperfections. Last summer, I was working at a wedding on Lake Michigan.
