Will and Ashley’s wedding was a decade in the making. They met early in high school, were introduced by mutual friends, and Ashley even wrote in her diary that she was “going to marry this boy”. Before tying the knot, Will and Ashley had been through everything together…high school football games and graduation, going away to different colleges, and now they have the rest of their lives to live and love together.
Their wedding day was a day of love and romance. With delicate drapery and soft, sweet floral details, this beautiful blush wedding was picture perfect (I mean, just try to look through these gorgeous photos from Christina Harrison Photography without swooning). And how could the day not be perfect, when this stunning bride had been planning it since she first met her groom in high school.
Tell us about your dress!
My dress was a Willowby by Watters Caracus gown that I found at a local bridal shop in downtown Plymouth. My dress was made of an ivory illusion tulle and freesia lace that rested on a stretch satin lining that curved into a fit-and-flare silhouette. The dress had an angled V-neck with shoulder straps, a dramatic lace back, and a sweep train.
What were you thinking or feeling when you caught sight of each other for the first time on your wedding day?
Will and I did a first look before the wedding ceremony. This was so special because it was just us, all alone to see each other for the first time on our wedding day. I just remember feeling so much love for Will when I first saw him. We were both so emotional because we had dreamed about this day since we were kids.
What is the one thing you love most about your partner?
While there are many things to love about Will, the things that come to mind are how patient, kind and how hard of a worker he is. Will is such a gentleman and always has been to me. He is every man a girl dreams of to be a husband and father.
Describe your wedding style.
For our wedding day, we wanted our guests to feel the love as much as we knew we would. Our style vision was a romantic and airy perspective with beautiful blush and ivory color palette throughout every detail. I have always admired Lauren Conrad as a style icon, and admiring her wedding was no different. From our love seat to the greenery and floral, LC’s wedding was definitely an inspiration for our day.
What was your favorite moment on your wedding day?
I don’t know if I had a favorite moment. The whole day was such a dream, marrying the man I had been dating for almost a decade, celebrating with close friends and family, seeing my wedding day vision come to life, it was all so amazing!
What was for dessert?
The dessert table was complete with beautiful blooms, classic glass beaded stands, decadent raspberry roses, chocolate salted caramel cupcakes, and strawberry bergomat and praline macaroons. Also included in the dessert table was our strawberry vanilla cutting cake topped with fresh flowers and a small confetti caramel praline birthday cake for Will.
What was your wedding date? Is there any significance to the date?
Our wedding date was June 3rd, 2017. This is Will’s birthday! To celebrate all of our friends and family were able to sing to him while he blew out his mini birthday cake! This was a very special moment for us!
What advice do you have for others who are planning their own weddings?
One piece of advice for new brides-to-be is to think through every single detail before the big day and divvy up responsibilities to other people so when it comes to the wedding day you can relax and soak up every minute of it. Many people told me I was very relaxed on my wedding day, and I truly felt that way because I knew that everything was taken care of and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. This allowed me to enjoy the day!
